The ANSWER Project in Brief

ANSWER stands for A North Sea Way to Energy-efficient Regions. It brings together experts from across the Region who have experience in renewables, energy management and working with business and  community groups.

Coming together as a partnership enables us to add a layer of learning to our innovation, so that the project can share lessons with regions across Europe. We will deliver a range of new tools, and an understanding of how and where they are most appropriate.  Moving to a sustainable future is a huge challenge for all our communities. It is also a challenge that we have to meet. ANSWER aims to demonstrate practical ways in which this transition can be achieved.

This website holds all the information about our partners and their various activities.  If you are interested in a specific area, please contact Ned Harrison (ned.harrison@suffolk.gov.uk).

Climate Change is widely recognised as the most serious threat to society of our generation.  The science of its expected impacts, and of its cause in the patterns of behaviour associated with industrialised societies are now well understood, even if the solutions are not always clear.  This understanding has led to the EU adopting ambitious targets such as the EU 20-20-20 targets.  ANSWER delivers practical and realistic approaches to realising this goal.

The partnership involves a wealth of experience covering business and community engagement and energy management. By bringing this expertise together, the partnership aims to maximise the benefits of their activities and develop a template for future activity by other regions struggling with the same challenges.

Project activities are linked by an ethos of “Inform, Incentivise, Assist”. This approach is designed to overcome identified obstacles that have hindered previous attempts to deliver reduced energy consumption.
