Lower Carbon Business
This work package is led by our partners in West Flanders.
It aims to create regions where business leads the move towards energy-efficiency by making environmental improvement attractive for businesses looking for a competitive edge. The project will provide SMEs with support and rewards for participating in carbon reduction actions. Partners will test out technologies and practices that reduce carbon emissions through shared projects within exemplar business clusters. Sharing the costs, lessons and practice of developing appropriate business support packages means this project can be deliver truly innovative and significant results.
Key project activities required to deliver these aims include the following:
- Business awards schemes
- Business networks for collaborative learning
- An energy charter for SMEs and benchmarking process
- Tools to support business action and audit benefits
- Feasibility test of collaborative solutions for sustainable energy
