Norfolk County Council, in a partnership together with local artists, CUE East, UEA , Norwich University College of the Arts, NEAD and ANSWER lead a cooperative called Artists for Climate Change, which has become the first initiative in the Eastern region to be awarded the London 2012 Inspire Mark for Sustainability.
The Artists for Climate Change initiative aims to support Norfolk's carbon reduction targets, and make sustainable lifestyles seem both achievable and desirable.
After undergoing training, local artists have created a range of creative learning programmes designed to excite children and young people's imagination, and promote further understanding around issues of climate change and sustainability. These programmes have taken the form of an Artists for Climate Change Directory of artists available to work in both school and community settings.
