Bremen’s ‚initiative environment enterprise - initiative umwelt unternehmen‘ aims to support businesses in Bremen and Bremerhaven with suitable instruments and tools to meet the targets of working and operating sustainably. It wants to give concrete options for improving competitiveness and to prepare for future tasks through acting environmentally conscious. Through intensive networking the initiative strengthens structures and improves processes.
All information and programmes, from environmental management systems, funding schemes and consulting for funding, activities targeting CO2 reduction, network events and the environment award scheme, can be found on the Internet portal of the initiative at www.umwelt-unternehmen.bremen.de
Bremen’s environment network for businesses continues to grow and Bremen has two new climate protection enterprises
Everybody talks about the climate – four more companies from Bremen and Bremerhaven do something about it. With clear reductions of their CO2 emissions Bock Bio Science GmbH, Holzhandlung Hermann Ehlers GmbH & Co. KG, OAS AG and the Klimahaus Bremerhaven proved that they take environmental soundness seriously. Together with these four companies the network is now 105 members strong.

Environment Economy on the German Foreign Trade Congress
Under the motto ‘Good New Europe – Market of the future’ the 9th German Foreign Trade Congress took place in Bremen on 25 and 26 November. Many international guests from the European economy travelled to Bremen to meet up.
The ‘initiative enterprise environment – initiative umwelt unternehmen’ participated at this event and used this unique opportunity together with its partner from the economy and the sciences to present its full scope of environmental approaches. At its joint exhibition stand the involved actors presented the competence clusters of wind energy, energy efficiency, efficiency of resources, sustainable mobility and logistics.
