POM West-Flanders is fully preparing to welcome all ANSWER partners to Ostend on the Belgian coast and North Sea; hopefully an inspiring location for our next ANSWER meetings!
WPA and B meetings on 10th and 11th of May
WPA will set the next steps for the implementation and communication of the climate barometer ("Climometer"), an attractive tool for engaging people to change their energy consumption. Furthermore, WPA will learn about the city of Ostend’s energy policy: a member of the Covenant of Mayors, pioneer in ESCO contracting for municipal buildings and energy services to the citizens… Maybe a new source of inspiration?
WPB will exchange experiences about energy cooperation projects between businesses and low carbon buildings, based on the feasibility studies performed with ANSWER’s support. WPB will visit Vanheede’s landfill plant. The biogas produced at the landfill is combusted in a CHP, electricity is injected into the grid and (waste) heat is exchanged with their neighbour company. A spontaneous cooperation and win win for both companies!
All together we will learn about the energy reduction campaign for inhabitants of West-Flanders, called ‘Energy hunt’, and about the Energy box demonstrator building and their monitoring system for renewable techniques.

Next steps must be taken on common actions such as ANSWER’s DVD, end conference… the finish.
