Most people know that heating costs a lot of energy, but less known is that airco systems in buildings or processes can consume a lot of electricity during summer. Therefore, Business Agency and POM WF organize a joint business event on cooling buildings and processes on the 20th May in Torhout. The techniques and the (dis)advantages of active versus passive (natural or free) cooling will be presented, including 2 inspiring business cases (ambassadors).
Special location for this event is the new ecobuilding of energy distribution company Infrax in Torhout, where energy and water saving techniques are both implemented. Infrax wanted to be a pionier The energy savings are about 40% compared to new conventional buildings nowadays (only meeting the standard) and the yearly carbon reduction is about 180 tons of CO2. This building has won the "2020 challenge award".
