On the 29th of March, the shared facility was officially re-opened. The existing shared facility in Wevelgem (Kortrijk, West-Flanders) has been renewed/refurbished, including some energy saving measures such as:
- roof and façade insulation,
- mechanical ventilation with heat recuperation,
- (presence) detection system for lights and better light scattering through mirrors,
- a renewed efficient central heating system with a late work button…
POM WF was proud to contribute to the re-opening ceremony with a presentation on the energy saving measures, in order to encourage other shared facilities' managers and tenants to follow this example!
Furthermore, POM WF has offered to support other interested managers of shared facilities to reduces their energy use and to save money. Based on some former audits, 5 other shared facilities will be audited and supported in 2010 (BC Ieper, BC Veurne, DG Ieper, DG Diksmuide and BC Waregem). Furthermore a survey has been started to collect all basic energy contract information (provider, consumption data, end of contract, supervision,…). This data collection will be the starting point for further actions, such as collective purchase of energy, solar panels…
