During November and December 2009 two well-known Växjö businesses challenged each other to reduce their electric energy use as much as possible. And January 27th the result was presented at an award ceremony. Both businesses saved more than 8 %, but the winner was Videum with 8,6 %! The local newspapers reported on the result.

The first price, an electrical bike was handed over by one of ANSWER’s Climate Idols, Peter Hogla, who took the opportunity to share his experiences from his first challenge – saving at least 15 % electric energy at home. Videum celebrated with cake for their employees and everyone was very happy with the result. And Visma seemed to be motivated for a new challenge later on in the ANSWER-project…
Both companies also invested money in a tree planting project in Africa; this gesture gives the competition a global perspective. What the employees do at their workplace makes a difference for the world, and trees planted in Africa makes a difference for Växjö.
