ANSWER Launch

In September 2008 the twelve partners from 4 countries involved in the ANSWER Project came together for the first time since funding was approved to finalise the delivery plans for an innovative and exciting series of activities.

The meeting on 24th September was generously hosted by the East of England office in Brussels.  The location was selected in part because of the good rail links that facilitated partners to travel sustainably, reducing the project's negative environmental impact.  Throughout the 3-year lifetime of the project we will be looking to challenge our traditional ways of working to demonstrate the potential for sustainability in our work practices.

Iain Dunnett, Manager of the Suffolk: Creating the Greenest County project, welcomed the project's ambitious aims.  He told the partners that the project's success in gaining funding indicated how the need to create a sustainable model for Europe is now widely recognised as a vital responsibility.  It is now down to the partners to develop some of the answers to this challenge over the course of the project.

The meeting was used to put in place the structures that will help the project run smoothly and deliver maximum benefits from its activities.  It also allowed partners to add detail to the planned activities across the three project strands to be delivered over the next 3 years.
