As a part of working with reducing carbon emissions in local businesses, the Answer project in Växjö has organized an energy saving competition. Two well-known companies; Videum and Visma, will try to save as much electric energy as possible at work during November and December. Management will have to do their best to engage every co-worker in the prestigious competition, no effort is too small and every saved kWh counts!
To save energy during Christmas time will be a challenge; companies usually put up a lot of electrical Christmas lighting. Perhaps there are more climate smart options to invest in for this Christmas and for the future?
Of course both companies will receive a price as an encouragement for the electric energy saved in the competition. The price will be an electrical bike for the winning company and a traditional bike for the second prize winner. The aim is to make people realize that individual acts matter by creating new energy habits and introducing a new means of transportation to the employees. Both companies will also invest the money saved in a tree planting project in Africa; this gesture gives the competition a global perspective.
Two local newspapers reported on the launch of the competition in the beginning of November. In January the results will be ready and a winner will be chosen – now is the time for action!
