The challenge for April will be to choose new ways of travelling. Leave the car at home and go by bike, electric bike, electric moped, bus or take a walk! Compared to November last year the Climate Idols are challenged to reduce short trips by car.
The expert of the evening was Christer Ljungberg who is managing director of a business working with sustainable traffic solutions for the future. The local bus company contributed with their own challenge: to do as many trips as possible with bus during April. Everyone received free bus tickets for one month and the winner of the challenge will get free tickets for a year.
A local business promoted and showed their climate smart electric moped and Växjö municipality showed electric bikes. These means of transport could be the future in green cities, and the Climate Idols were inspired after trying them out. They were also offered to borrow both for two days each.
Pär Wallin from Växjö municipality is a true cyclist - he cycles about 4000 km every year. To inspire the Climate Idols he showed all of his gadgets that make it easier for him to take the bike. For example rain wear, cycle pump, overshoes and a repair kit.
