Millions of people who live in low-lying coastal areas of the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Belgium and the UK are at risk from a severe storm surge.
With climate change likely to lead to higher sea levels and more extreme weather events, including hurricanes and heavy rainfall, this is yet another reason why it is imperative we act to reduce our energy use now.
