Växjö is working with project schools as a part of WPA. Last year a group of teachers at Teknikum helped their students examine the energy wasted at home and at school, combined with visits to see Växjö's passive haus buildings and solar energy plants. This school year the concept will be repeated with another group of students.
At the same time all teachers at another project school, Katedral, participated in an inspirational lecture about ANSWER activities, energy saving and "the greenest city in Europe". In total 65 teachers learned more and found it very useful.
In a few weeks all domestic science teachers from municipal schools in Växjö will meet, and for two hours they will learn all about cooking climate smart food. A local lecturer and green food expert named Maja Söderberg (see picture) will lead the discussions. Maja also inspired the Climate Idols to create a climate smart menu for a local restaurant and to buy and cook sustainably.
